It’s finally launch time for the long awaited Erotic Art London! Head there this weekend to discover hundreds of quality erotic artwork in every imaginable media from all over the world!
The exhibition has been built from a curated Open Call from over 500 submissions worldwide. 90 specially selected artists have been selected to the show their work and one artist will be selected as the winner and receive £1000.
In addition to the art, there are workshops, art classes, performances, talks, lectures, live music, food and drink and an erotic art market.
The public is a great way for the public to get to know what happening in the world of erotic art, an art genre that has been followed with taboo for centuries and still is.
So who can you see at at Erotic Art London?
Angela Wooi will exhibit her interactive art installations Pussy Bed. This installation was recently exhibited at Turner Contemporary. It’s a bed covered in fabric vulvas and the participants are told through pre-recorded soundtracks, short erotic tales about magical vaginas.
Ellie Pennick will exhibit the satirical sculpture ‘Our Theresa’. This sculpture got mainstream media covering last year, causing much controversy!
Talks and presentations will be by Bob Bentley, a BAFTA award winner, film maker and writer who will present his books and film “Please of Rope”, as well as doing book and DVD signings.
Jens Pepper, A Polish photographer, writer and presenter based in Berlin, will present his 2 books.John Button, from Honest Erotica, will present erotic illustrations through history.
Korbinian Vogt, a German photographer and self-publisher – his first book Narrated Monologue won the heart of many photobook lovers and his photographs have been very popular on social media.
Matthew Holroyd, art / creative editor and founder of the two erotic magazines Baron Magazine and Baroness magazine will be doing a presenation.
Roy Stuart, the American Taschen published photographer and film maker will do a presentation about his work with Q&As. Roy has sold over 500,000 books internationally and this is first time for years he has been in London, especially for our exhibition. He will also be holding a photography workshop for 6 photographers.
There will also be free drawing classes for anyone exhibiting, as well as evening performances including crazy and high class vintage, burlesque, fetish shows, showgirls, body suspension and shibari, fire and dance show and live music.
